Understand and connect with your pets on a deeper level

What Happens During a Reading?

Animal communication readings can be performed in person or over a distance by sending photos.

As you ask questions, I can pick up on their thoughts and feel their feelings.

Often, pets are quite comical, as they can have funny nicknames for their owners or will share stories about their past and their current home.

I also provide medical intuitive readings for animals. In this process, I scan from head to toes. I share any information I get, which may be how they feel or symbolic (readings are kind of like playing pictionary at times), regarding their lifestyle, dietary preferences, emotions, and point out areas of their body to focus on. For example, I may feel their pain in a specific area of their body.

To schedule your reading, you can book online or contact me to arrange a local in-home appointment.

In-Person Readings

In person, it is easiest for me to connect if I can place a hand on the animal during the reading; however, it is not entirely necessary.

Most important for in-home readings is a calm and quiet environment where I can focus on one pet at a time without interruptions.

Most animals, including wild animals, connect quickly and share their thoughts easily.

On rare occasions, I have read a few highly anxious pets looked shocked the moment I connected with them in my mind! Which was a good laugh and confirmation! In these cases, I give them more time and reassurance. I may sit and meditate near them for a period of time first, so they can get used to my energy. Anxious animals are usually better at receiving a reading over a distance. Just like humans, they can be nervous too.

Distance Readings

I can also provide animal readings remotely, with their first name or a digital photo.

We can meet over a phone call, Zoom call, or provide the reading in email format.

Example Questions You Can Ask

– How they are feeling physically (medical intuitive scanning)

– Favorite foods

– Reasoning behind behaviors, and potentially what can be done to improve them

– Insights into their behavior and personality (such as when considering an adoption)

– How they feel about changes in the home

– How they like to be petted and treated, likes and dislikes

Examples From Recent Readings

I felt pain between the eyes of a dog. It was confirmed that the dog was recently healing from a bug bite in this location.

I saw a cat having a single piece of food (it was small and round?) going between the front teeth and not swallowing or chewing it. I was confused, as I could not see any other issues with eating, just this one piece of food? The owner confirmed they had recently been forcing a medicine pill to be swallowed.

I was asked about a newly adopted cat spraying the front door. This is not typical, but in this case, I saw that this was due to loneliness and was a cry for attention to not be forgotten as they left for work. The owners were giving the cat space to adjust and approach them in his own time, but the cat actually wanted a lot more affection and reassurance. I advised the owners on how this cat wanted to receive affection, and words of affirmation (we are keeping you, this is your home now, you are safe here, etc.), and the spraying at the front door stopped.

I was asked about introducing a new cat into the home with another cat, and how they would feel about each other. I picked up on typical behaviors, such as which cat would eat most of the food, but more importantly, I picked up that the previous foster would move back to town, and ask to have the cat back, which came true months later.

I connected my mind with a distant family member’s newly adopted cat out of curiosity when I learned the cat was previously a stray/feral. We were not able to validate the information I picked up on the cats’ past. The cat’s personality is aloof, and it avoids everyone except the owner and is not very affectionate. When I visited for the first time ever, during a stop on a multi-state road trip, as soon as I parked my car, the cat approached with hugs and greetings out in the street. During the entire visit, the cat acted like he already knew me, lying at my feet for belly rubs. My family member was shocked as the cat does not have this warmth with anyone else. I believe the cat already knew me from the initial distance reading.

A dog was lethargic, coughing, and multiple vet visits had not found the cause, so I was sought out for a medical intuitive reading. I felt a whole-body systemic infection (similar to how a human feels fighting a bad cold). I recommended an over-the-counter pet supplement that matched the conditions I was feeling. The owner also felt this was a safe option to try, and the dog rebounded to normal health and energy levels. This is a dog I visit regularly, and I can confirm that since the reading and new treatment 6 months ago, the dog has been doing well without needing further vet visits.

Animal Reiki

I am a certified Animal Reiki Master, and Energy work is a perfect complement to your pet’s appointment for a reading.

Typically, in energy sessions, I scan the body by hovering my hands. I do not touch. As I do this, I may pick up on areas of the body that need attention, such as feeling their pain or depleted energy in certain areas. This can be a great addition to the other way I perform readings, as it may bring more clarity and details.

When I send energy to animals, they can be more sensitive, so I usually start at a distance and invite them to get closer on their own, or slowly approach them, making sure they are comfortable being close to me.

Most pets love energy work and will cuddle up once I begin. I’ve had many cats, birds, and dogs press their foreheads directly into the center of my hands in an unusual way, and stay there for long periods of time! Or adjust themselves to focus on another part of their body. And when they are done, they will abruptly get up and leave!

If you are receiving energy work, often pets get in between my clients and me, wanting some, too! In one of my recent energy work sessions, the client’s dog kept trying to fall asleep on my feet, which was not a typical behavior.

Energy work also works just as well at a distance, and can be performed by sharing a photo of your pet.

If you would like to include energy work with an animal communication reading, I suggest reserving at least a 1-hour appointment.

How did I learn how to read for pets?

From 2002 to 2018, my dog Honey, an adorable small King Charles Cavalier, was my greatest and most expensive teacher.

Once at the vet’s office, a receptionist told me that the reason King Charles Cavaliers are on the cover photos of veterinary pamphlets is not that they are cute; it is because they make the office the most money, and this proved to be true.

Everything went wrong with my dog. Ear infections, dental infections with teeth falling out, heart murmur, nose discoloration, bowel obstruction, choking on food, seizures, anal gland infections, spine degeneration, trouble with walking, and the list goes on.

As I was practicing my readings (my special interest of study since the late 90’s) and animal communication, I would often hold her and feel what was wrong and what she needed, and I kept being shocked that I was exactly right.

After spending an estimated $20k over 10 years…

On her second-to-last medical appointment, I could feel what was wrong (dry bowel blockage) and had an intuition on how to treat her (enema). $2,500 later, visiting a vet and finally an ER, my impressions ended up being true. The first vet suggested she be put down and said her bowels would never work properly again. This did not feel right, and at the ER, the vet agreed on enemas based on x-rays and exam, and trained me on how to give my dog an enema myself. After many rounds of daily enemas and light foods, she continued a long life without any further bowel issues.

On her last medical visit, I walked in, much more confident in my intuition, placed her down, and said what antibiotics and a shot she needed. The vet said, “That is not how this works”. I paid over $1,000 for the tests to confirm, and the final result from the vet? She received the exact treatment I suggested.

During these last few years of her vet visits (ages 8-10), the vets typically suggested that she be put down, such as in the bowel obstruction above.

Around the age of 10, I was tired of the high expenses and constant recommendations to put her down. My intuition had been reliably accurate. I decided there wasn’t much to lose in applying my intuition as the first course of action.

On that first night, I made her an intuitive herbal tonic for her stubborn congestion and cough; I double checked the internet that all of the ingredients were safe, and gave her a small dose every hour, staying up all night to monitor her, willing to take her to the vet if needed. And by morning, it was gone – forever.

After that, we had no more emergencies or vet visits ever again. She lived to over 15 years old! Her expected breed age is only 9.9 years, and she had a heart murmur. The last 5 years of her life were some of the best years of her health! Even her spine and walking improved, and she had many more years of going on road trips with me, daily zoomies, and chasing the ball at the dog park. Before that, between the ages of 8-10 I was preparing for her to leave, and I’m so thankful for the extra years and this profound lesson she taught me.

Also – it gets WEIRDER! When I “hear” her in my head, she has a specific high-pitched tone of voice and personality. When I have asked a few other animal communicators/psychic friends of mine to connect with her and described the same personality and voice without me telling them first.

In the year 2013, my other dog, a border collie, with otherwise lifelong perfect health, suddenly lost a lot of weight, and a large patch of hair was falling out. The veterinarian recommended steroids, and my intuition shouted “no!” I requested to add mold testing in addition to the other tests they suggested. I knew by this time to trust my intuition, took her home, kept her out of the home with potential mold (she ended up being our canary in the coal mine), and fed her a diet to help systemic mold. Within days, she was starting to regrow missing hair and gain weight. The mold test came back positive, and I learned that my vet’s suggestion of a steroid would have likely killed her. I returned for a follow-up appointment to scold the vet and show that she was healing.

Both of my dogs lived to over 15 years old. We often went to the same dog park. Many were shocked seeing the same dogs over a decade later, looking and playing like they were puppies.

Getting on my soapbox about veterinary care…

With these stories below, please understand that I do recommend veterinary care.

Some wonderful veterinarians are lifesavers, and you should definitely trust them!

However, time and time again, I have found that vets typically first recommend extreme treatments when there may be time to try more gentle or natural options.

Here’s another example from my King Charles. She had recurring anal gland infections. The vet immediately recommended surgery to pull the anal glands out of her body, disinfect them, and place them back in her body. I asked… “Why not just express the anal glands daily, so the infection can have more of a chance to heal naturally?” They said that would be a lot of work, yet I felt it was a safer and gentler option. I learned a way to do it at home daily by having her sit on a hot washcloth and receiving an exterior rear massage (not too gross). I noticed the infection coming out on her normal bathroom breaks following this treatment, so I kept it up. I also visited a vet or groomer 1-2x per week for a proper anal gland expression. There were less and less signs of infection, and within about a month, the issue was healed completely with no surgery needed. After that, I continued to treat this area about 1x per month when grooming or during vet check-ups for maintenance.

I have only ever heard veterinarians recommend surgery costing $1,500+ as the only option for the common issue of urinary crystals/blockages in cats. I have resolved this in many cats successfully, at home, every single time. I have used a pet supplement that worked within a few hours. In the years before I knew this supplement existed (or maybe it didn’t exist yet), I used diluted apple cider vinegar fed via oral syringe; that method takes a little longer, with resolution in about 12-24 hours. I would never recommend allowing a cat to sustain a urinary blockage, as it is fatal. However, what is more risky… trying a natural remedy for a few hours first for resolution, or surgery? A lot of people don’t even know these options exist.

My recommendations for pet health issues

If your pet is currently experiencing a medical emergency, that is not the right time for a reading. Please see your vet right now!

1. For any concerns, always order all diagnostic tests, such as blood work, stool samples, x-rays, etc., to find the condition.

2. After you know the causes and specific conditions from your vet, and ONLY IF it is safe to take some time, take a pause and research further before deciding on a course of treatment.

If you have a bad gut feeling, always go to another vet for a second option.

Read reviews to learn about reactions to your pet’s current foods.

Read reviews about medicines or treatments recommended by your vet and dosages for your pet’s size. Did you know they give the same dosage of certain medicines to a dog that is 10 lbs or 100+ lbs?

Consider preventative options. Sometimes, prevention or solutions can come from a new routine or common sense once you understand the condition.

3. The best time to book a reading is after you have already checked with your vets, as I am not a replacement for proper medical care.

I prefer NOT to know the pet’s diagnoses or symptoms at the beginning of the reading. I only ask for a first name, a photo, or to visit in person with your pet. I may feel areas of congestion, blockages, or pain in specific parts of the body. I usually do not know the exact condition, and I do not diagnose. Every reading is completely different. After my initial reading, you can then tell me all of the details about your pet and ask specific questions, so I can read further into these specific areas for you. I find it to be validating for both of us, that my reading is accurate when I can identify some areas of concern without prompting.

4. For any natural remedies, always check with your vet or reliable sources to make sure the supplement and dosage are safe for your pet before using them.

5. After trying lifestyle changes or new remedies, always return for a follow-up appointment with your veterinarian to confirm your pet is fully healed and recovered.

Again, as an example, with my decision to treat my dogs’ anal glands through daily care instead of surgery, I shared this idea with the vet to get their feedback first to make sure it was safe, and returned for follow-up appointments to make sure it was resolved.
